Much of Ruislip, Eastcote, Ickenham and Northolt was built in the interwar years, giving the area thousands of semi detached and terraced houses with hipped roofs and good sized gardens. These homes are well suited to single storey rear extensions, side return extensions and hip to gable or dormer loft conversions.

Northwood, Pinner and parts of Harrow and Rickmansworth include larger Edwardian and detached properties, where double storey extensions, specialist brickwork and full refurbishments are common. Uxbridge and Harefield offer a mix of period cottages, post war homes and newer estates.

Most of our work here falls under the London Borough of Hillingdon, which covers Ruislip, Eastcote, Ickenham, Northwood, Harefield, Uxbridge and Northolt. Hillingdon has several conservation areas, including Ruislip Village, Eastcote Village and Ickenham Village, where extensions and dormers need more careful design.

Pinner and Harrow fall under the London Borough of Harrow, which publishes its own guidance on extension depths and loft dormers. Rickmansworth is in Three Rivers District, Hertfordshire, which has its own design guidance and some areas within the Green Belt.
